Description

Charlotte Bradley is a Fine Artist, who studied at the Manchester School of Arts. Charlotte is intrigued and excited by the often-inexplicable aspects of the mystery that becomes of a painting, the movements, distortion and gestural marks that are created by music and emotion which are integrated into her artistic practices. By also positioning these ideas within the boundaries of what is acceptable within art whilst pushing the art to become unlimited to creativity. This allows creative faults to become part of the finishing piece. An important aspect of this is the idea of knowing what a painting interprets as well as the mystery of what is seen as familiar, yet difficult to fathom, aiming to provoke the viewer to an emotional response.

The aim in Charlottes art has been to aesthetically incorporate a painting with layers of emotion, thought, excessive movement, stillness and calmness. Gestural marks become dependent on the artist own emotions on the day of making, allowing the illusion of changing emotions that are provoked by music and colour. Charlotte believes that by using the power of music and colour to influence her work, the paintings take on forms of an emotional ability, evoking the art to become open to all forms of interpretation which can then be personal to the painter but also personal to the viewer. The use of colour and music portrayed in the paintings provoke these aspects in a collective way, almost defeating the use of language by using art.
