Born in 1981 in Orléans, France, Benoît Havard was drawn to art from a young age, frequenting galleries and museums with his mother and admiring works like those of Michel Jouenne. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts de Cherbourg under Lejeune and Valadié, and by 19, was a full-time painter, initially using watercolours in Morocco before transitioning to oils and a palette knife. Today, Benoît crafts luminescent, dreamy urban landscapes, inspired by his travels and photographs, using light and contrast to evoke emotional power. His technique involves layering, creating texture with sharp palette knife strokes, and pushing towards abstraction with a balance of warm and cool tones. Benoît’s works are featured in European galleries and private collections, including that of Louis Vuitton.
